Meet Mike, Our Founder, and President
Michael Staffileno is our president; in 1988, he established the Chagrin River Company. And Mike is not your typical home builder or remodeling contractor in any way, shape, or form.
What makes Mike unusual among his peers? First, Mike is a world-class chef and holds a degree in physics. In addition, he has a deep appreciation for the natural world and art, design, and metal craft. And the fact that he enjoys building things also shouldn’t come as a surprise.
Therefore, it might not be a stretch for him to launch a high-end kitchen and bathroom remodeling company where he could combine his passions for cooking, art, design, and construction.
Mike’s love of the outdoors includes an appreciation of wood and other natural materials used in construction. In addition, his physics training comes in handy for calculating heating and cooling loads, finding solutions to space and structural problems, and having the math and engineering skills necessary for those tasks.
Mike’s understanding of fluids and thermodynamics enables him to comprehend and effectively use the building science required to construct high-performance, energy-efficient custom homes. The need for high-performing and energy-efficient homes expects to increase in the coming years.
Mike also enjoys working directly with each of our customers throughout the project’s design and development phase. During the building phase, he and our other project managers collaborate with our customers to provide excellent service.
When you stop to think about it, Mike may not be the typical person. Still, the fact that he isn’t typical sets him apart as an exceptional performer in his field.
